Doubled their review count in 90 days and filled their schedule 3 weeks out
BrightWire had great work but barely any online reviews. We set up automated review requests after every job, and watched their booked calendar fill up three weeks in advance.
The Challenge
BrightWire Electric did excellent work, and every customer said so, whether over the phone, in person, or in thank-you cards. But almost none of that praise made it online. With only 47 Google reviews after eight years in business, BrightWire was invisible next to competitors who had 200+ reviews, even though BrightWire's craftsmanship was widely considered the best in the region.
The owner had tried asking for reviews at the end of every job, but techs forgot, homeowners said "sure" and never did it, and there was no systematic follow-up. The occasional request email felt robotic and landed in spam.
Meanwhile, Google's local pack was pushing BrightWire further down the results page. Every week of invisibility meant more leads going to lower-quality competitors with higher review counts.
The Solution
We built a review automation flow that feels personal, not corporate, and runs entirely on autopilot:
- A personalized SMS goes out 4 hours after job completion, while the experience is still fresh: "Hi {name}, this is Kevin from BrightWire. Hope your panel upgrade went smoothly! If you've got 30 seconds, a quick Google review really helps us out."
- The message links directly to BrightWire's Google review form, so there is no copy-paste and no searching.
- If the customer clicks but doesn't submit, a gentle reminder lands 48 hours later.
- Customers who rate below 4 stars get redirected to a private feedback form instead, so BrightWire can fix issues before they go public.
- Every new review triggers a Slack notification so the office manager can respond within the hour.
What happened next
In 90 days, BrightWire doubled their review count from 47 to 112, and because new reviews skewed 4.9 stars, the overall rating climbed from 4.6 to 4.9. Within four months, their Google Business Profile started ranking #1 in the local pack for "electrician near me" in their service area.
The compounding effect on inbound leads was immediate. By month five, the calendar was booked out three weeks in advance, up from the previous 4 to 5 day horizon, giving the owner the luxury of pricing jobs with less competitive pressure.
